Copenhagen, Denmark- Short & Sweet but worth it!

I flew into Copenhagen on a Tuesday, a great budget-friendly option if you have the time and flexibility. I stayed at A&O Hostel in Sydhavn, which I recommend. It looks more like a hotel than a hostel, super clean, modern, and well-kept. If you’re traveling solo or on a budget, this place is a solid win.

Day one Itinerary:

After a full day of travel, I kept it simple. I spent the afternoon wandering the city, and I stumbled across a peaceful little gem called the Statue of Anders Park. People were walking, chatting, or just sitting quietly on benches. It was so calm and beautiful, the perfect spot after a long travel day. Later that evening, I grabbed dinner nearby and headed back to rest.

Most cafés and hostels offer a simple breakfast: fresh bread, butter, and a hard-boiled egg. I genuinely loved it. Eggs are packed with all 9 essential amino acids, so it felt like the right kind of nourishment that I needed to maintain the day since the body can’t naturally produce those. The next day, I visited the København University Library. It’s free for university students, but if you’re just visiting, expect to pay about $10–12, and it’s worth every cent. It was massive, quiet, and breathtaking. Honestly, I’d bring everyone I’ve ever loved there if I could. It’s that kind of place.

Later that evening, I tried a TikTok-recommended pasta spot called FABRO. Guys…It was delicious, like seriously good. Go before dinner rush; there was a line outside, but it moved quickly and wasn’t overwhelming. After dinner, I biked around the city as the sun started to set, peacefully and unforgettable. GO!

Renting a bike in Copenhagen can be super affordable. I paid around $27 for two and a half days, which gave me total freedom to roam. One of my favorite rides was through the area around the Copenhagen Courthouse and deeper into the city streets. The city has so much to see, I would recommend only really taking a bike around.

My Final Stop:

Before heading out on Thursday, I visited Rundetaarn (The Round Tower).Entry was about $14, and it was such a cool final look at the city. Standing up top, looking out at Copenhagen with my bags almost packed it was the perfect goodbye.

Final thoughts:

I think Copenhagen, being my first visit since Iceland, was such a perfect match of welcoming and relaxing. The nice part about traveling is that it can simply be whatever you want it to be. While I’m having a peaceful bike ride around the city, you may visit a cafe, a lake, a shopping center, etc. All & all, it was just effortlessly beautiful, safe, and serene. I loved how quiet it could be, yet how much there was to explore. If you’re even thinking about visiting, this is your sign to go.

With passion and desire,

Faith H.
